This Old House Magazine (circulation: 968,000) called Makita\'s new 12" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw (LS1216L) a "must-own miter saw" in their editor\'s "The Hardware Aisle" blog this morning.
The editor clearly liked the new LS1216L\'s cutting capacity, including 15" crosscutting, 8" crown molding (nested) and 6-1/2" vertical. The editor also cited the saw\'s accuracy, stability, and 15 AMP motor, and summarized his impressions of the saw by saying, "In fact, this may just be the very best tool of its kind that I\'ve ever seen."
The Makita LS1216L is engineered with Deep and eXact cutting Technology (DXT), with the largest crosscutting and crown molding cutting capacity in its class, and increased accuracy and adjustment features for precise miter and bevel cuts. The LS1216L features 6 linear ball bearings and 4 steel rails for adjustment-free “dead-on” accurate cuts, right out of the box.
