MAKITA AND SCHEURING SPEED SPORTS JOIN FORCES FOR THE 2010-11 SNO-X SEASON

Makita returns for third straight season with top racers Malinoski, Johnstad

Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, is proud to announce a third straight season as a sponsor of the Scheuring Speed Sports Team as they contend for the 2010-2011 ISOC Championship in professional SnoCross Racing.

The Schuering Speed Sports Makita team is comprised of former champion Robbie Malinoski, and championship contender Andrew Johnstad.

Robbie has won multiple championships in both Pro and Semi Pro and will be in the hunt for another Pro championship this season. He finished in the top five in overall points last season, which was quite an accomplishment considering he had raced the entire season with a separated shoulder that he suffered while testing. Robbie is looking forward to racing this season 100% healthy and should be running up front all season. “I’m excited to be part of one of the premier teams on the circuit and look forward to an incredible season.” said Robbie.

Andrew Johnstad has won multiple championships in Semi Pro and last season was named “Most Improved Pro” in his second season in the Pro ranks. Look for Andrew to be battling up front with Robbie all season in search of his first Pro Championship.

“We are proud to associate our best-in-class power tools with winning teams, and Scheuring Speed Sports is a premier team in SnoCross racing capable of winning each and every time they line up,” said Brent Withey, Director of Marketing for Makita. “The Scheuring Speed Sports Team is always working hard to prepare and improve, and all of the team’s hard work and preparation will be evident this season as they battle for the Pro championship."

The 2010-11 season kicks off this weekend, November 26-28, at the Duluth National in Duluth, MN. The race will be broadcast on the Versus channel on Sunday, December 19 at 3 p.m. eastern.
