MAKITA'S STRANG ON THE PODIUM AGAIN AT LORRETTA LYNN'S GNCC

FMF Makita Suzuki’s Josh Strang battled it out in the mud this weekend at the famous Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, for the fifth round of the 2010 GNCC championship. Strang earned a hard-fought second place finish aboard his RM-Z450. Strang lead for nearly half the race, but was being chased by Charlie Mullins. The two eventually swapped positions, but Josh was never far behind.

Heavy rains made the track very muddy and a true challenge, but Strang and his FMF Makita Suzuki RM-Z450 fought hard to keep traction in the mud.  The slick track made it hard for many riders to find grip, but Strang had enough power and traction to keep himself near the front of the pack and finish second. Strang won the first four rounds of the series, and with the fifth round of the GNCC done, he now has a 37-point advantage over the next closest rider.

The Sportman A class riders saw the worst of the mud according to rider Rodney Smith.  Rodney and his all-new 2010 RMX450Z were handling the tough conditions just fine, however, as he fought his way through the pack and caught the leaders. Unfortunately, a flat tire forced him to end his race with just a couple of laps to go.

The next round of GNCC action takes place in Yadkinville, North Carolina, on May 9. Look for the fuel-injected FMF Makita Suzuki RM-Z450 and RMX450Z of Strang and Smith to be ahead of the pack.
