Makita's new 42 lb. HM1317CB equipped with exclusive Anti-Vibration Technology
FEBRUARY 23, 2010 – La Mirada, Calif. – Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, is proud to announce the release of its new 42 lb. AVT Demolition Hammer, model HM1317CB. This hard-hitting hammer is equipped with Anti-Vibration Technology, Makita’s exclusive counterbalance system that delivers more efficient hitting on the concrete with less vibration in the tool.
The new HM1317CB is the latest in Makita’s growing line of AVT-equipped concrete hammers.
“The new HM1317CB combines hard-hitting power and less vibration for more efficient hitting,” said Anthony Corwin, Makita product manager, commercial products. “The HM1317CB is engineered to be the most efficient breaker hammer in its class. And at 42 pounds, it’s easier to maneuver than a larger 60 or 70-pound model, but still delivers enough power to get the job done.”
More Work and Less Vibration, With Ease-of-Use Features
The HM1317CB has a powerful 14 AMP motor with soft start and constant speed control that provides 730-1,450 BPM and 34.9 joules of impact energy to handle the most demanding applications. The HM1317CB is equipped with AVT, Makita’s exclusive counterbalance system that reduces vibration for more efficient hitting power.
Makita engineered the HM1317CB with an electronic variable speed adjusting dial, enabling the user to set the speed to the application, and a “no hammering when idling” setting to help increase the tool’s life. In addition, HM1317CB has an enlarged carbon brush for increased tool life, and an automatic brush cut-out system for increased tool life. An L.E.D. service light indicates that they need to be replaced, or if there is trouble with the electric circuit.
Additional features include a rubberized ergonomic soft grip to provide more comfort and control, an easy-to-operate slide switch to increase productivity and allow for continuous use, and a side-handle that swivels 360 degrees for greater control. For added convenience, the HM1317CB has a 16.4 ft. cord and accepts commonly used 1-1/8” Hex steel.
