The Rockstar Makita Suzuki team is headed to Freestone County Raceway in Wortham, Texas, this weekend to compete in the second round of the 2010 AMA Pro Motocross Championship. With the first race of the season behind them, the team is looking forward to racing to their fullest potential at Freestone. Newly crowned Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey and 2009 Australasian Pro-Lites Supercross and Motocross Champion Matt Moss are looking to lead the charge aboard their Makita backed RM-Z450s.
The last round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship saw Dungey and Moss struggling with a tough track, hungry competition, and a string of bad luck that left Dungey fighting to salvage points and Moss unable to complete the second moto. During the two-week break, the team has been training hard, making key adjustments, and preparing themselves both physically and mentally for the races to come. Both Ryan and Matt are looking to improve on their results, and are ready put the team back on the podium where they belong.
The third member of the Rockstar Makita Suzuki squad, 250-class rider Austin Stroupe, is still recuperating from his injuries sustained during the 2010 Supercross season, and will not be racing at this weekend’s event at Freestone. Austin is expected to make a full recovery and will be returning to racing soon.
The Freestone round of the 2010 AMA Pro Motocross Championship hits the track on Saturday, June 5th. Those who can’t make it to the race can catch the Rockstar Makita Suzuki racers on SPEED channel at 9 pm EST.
