JOSH STRANG TIGHTENS HIS GRIP ON 2010 GNCC TITLE AT TITAN GNCC

FMF Makita Suzuki’sJosh Strang claimed victory for the fifth time this season at the Titan GNCC on Sunday, extending his lead in the race for the 2010 title to 29 points. With just two rounds left in the series, Josh’s grip on the championship is beginning to close. "That was a battle today,” said FMF Makita Suzuki team manager Mike Webb. "We worked hard during the week and today Josh made it happen. We are just going to keep pushing all the way to the end."

The three-hour race was a grueling test of both man and machine as Strang fought against constant pressure to hold the lead. Josh ran into trouble partway through the race when a collision with a lapped rider dropped him out of the lead, but he quickly reclaimed his lost position. Once back in the lead, Josh held on for the rest of the race.

By the end of the race the gap between Strang and his closest competitor was a mere second, but it was enough to grant him the win and move him closer to the championship. “The track was good, my bike was running great, and I felt like I rode well,” said Strang. “I’m really looking forward to the next race.”

The 2010 GNCC season is coming to a close, and with his 29-point lead Strang has a solid grip on the 2010 title. The next race will take place at Power Line Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio, on October 9-10.
