Rockstar Makita Suzuki is busy practicing and preparing for Round 5 of the AMA Supercross series, which will take place at San Deigo’s Qualcomm Stadium on February 6, 2010. The team’s rookie racing sensation Ryan Dungey has had an amazing start to the 2010 season and is currently the point’s leader in the highly competitive class.
Dungey put together a great race effort in San Francisco, leading the first half of the main event and putting more than 9 seconds between him and the competition. His foot caught in a rut half way through the race, which ended in a get-off. Dungey was uninjured and able to remount his bike and finish a solid fourth, the first time this season he wasn’t on the podium after the main event.
The RM-Z450 has had a banner year so far, thanks to its fuel injection and the skills of the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team. The bike has gotten the holeshot in every main event this season, as well as most of the holeshots in the heat races. Look for the Suzuki to be at the front of the pack in San Diego to continue that tradition of great starts.
Speed will air the Western Regional Lites class at noon EST on Sunday, February 7, with the Supercross race following at 1 p.m. EST.
