MAKITA INTRODUCES NEW BRUSHLESS CORDLESS REBAR CUTTER

New 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Rebar Cutter cuts fast and effortlessly away from a power source.

July 26, 2019, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools and accessories, is proud to introduce the new 18V LXT^® Lithium-Ion Cordless Rebar Cutter (XCS04). The XCS04 provides spark-free cutting of rebar and steel rod, and is ideal for cutting rebar in retaining walls, tilt-up walls, bridges, support columns, waterways and tanks, swimming pools, and more.

Performance and Features

The XCS04 has a maximum cutting capacity of up to #5 (5/8”) rebar and effortlessly cuts the #5 rebar at a speed of 2.8 seconds. Users can get up to 233 cuts of #5 rebar with the XCS04Z and one 18V LXT 5.0Ah Battery.

Features of the XCS04 include an adjustable stopper that holds the rebar at 90° to the cutting blade, assisting with cutting stability. The cutting head rotates a full 360° for different cutting positions. The BL^™ Brushelss Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. Other features include a built-in L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area and an ergonomic pistol grip handle with rubberized soft grip that provides increased comfort on the job.

18V LXT^® System

The XCS04 utilizes the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries. Makita^® LXT^® Cordless System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries, takes a user from power tools to outdoor power equipment to get the job done. Makita^® 18V LXT^® Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

Star Protection Computer Controls™

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita^® 18V LXT^® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol indicating Star Protection inside.
