MAKITA EXPANDS WOODWORKING SAWS WITH NEW 18V X2 (36V) LXT CORDLESS 7-1/4" CIRCULAR SAW

The XSH08Z can make up to 610 cross-cuts per charge in 2x4 SPF lumber and up to 320 crosscuts per charge in 2x10 SPF lumber using two fully-charged 5.0Ah batteries.

June 6, 2019, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc. announces the extension of the industry-leading range of circular saws with the launch of the 18V X2 LXT^® (36V) Brushless Cordless 7-1/4” Circular Saw with Guide Rail Compatible Base (XSH08).

Users now have the flexibility of cutting with or without a guide rail. The XSH08 features a specially-designed base that provides guide rail compatibility, no adapter needed. The convenient base interacts with guide rails (sold separately) to provide perfect dead-on straight or bevel cuts. The circular saw has a large 2-3/8” cutting capacity at 90° and 0°- 48° bevel capacity.

Powered by two LXT batteries, the XSH08 delivers more power, speed and run time without the hassles of a cord. LXT technology delivers up to 610 crosscuts per charge in 2x4 SPF lumber and up to 320 crosscuts per charge in 2x10 SPF lumber when using two 5.0Ah batteries. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita^® 18V Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

The Makita-built electronically controlled BL^™ Brushless Motor delivers up to 6,000 RPM for maximum performance and 50% longer run time per charge. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol indicating Star Protection inside.

The XSH08PT includes a 7-1/4” 24T Carbide-Tipped Max Efficiency Miter Saw Blade. Each Max Efficiency blade is expertly tensioned for precision and true cutting, and manufactured from high quality hardened steel for added durability. Specially engineered ATAFR (Alternate Top Alternate Face w/ Raker) carbide tips assist to reduce the load put on the tool while cutting for smoother, faster cuts. The thin-kerf design provides smoother cuts with less drag on the motor and minimal material loss. Compared to standard blades the Max Efficiency Miter Saw Blade delivers up to 70% faster cutting.
