MAKITA ANNOUNCES NEW 18V LXT BRUSHLESS CORDLESS STRING TRIMMER

Split shaft design offers convenient storage and transportation

Nov. 1, 2019, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., the innovation leader in cordless power tool technology and cordless outdoor power equipment, is excited to announce the new 18V LXT^® Brushless Cordless String Trimmer (XRU12). Ideal for precision trimming and edging, this new cordless string trimmer expands Makita’s cordless outdoor power equipment offering.

This new cordless string trimmer features a split shaft design. The lower shaft and trimmer head detaches from the upper shaft, creating a more compact size for convenient storage and transportation.

The XRU12 can deliver up to 80 minutes of run time with one 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah Battery. Its exclusive Makita-built outer rotor brushless motor direct-drive system provides high power and increased torque. With a 12” cutting swath, the XRU12 offers increased productivity.

Features

A rubberized soft grip and adjustable loop handle provides increased operator comfort. The XRU012 features and ergonomic and balanced design and weighs only 8.6 lbs. with battery. The bump and feed trimmer head comes loaded with 0.080” twisted quiet line.

Technology

Automatic Torque Drive Technology Mode automatically shifts from 4,000-6,000 RPM for extended run time or added power. Users can also select from 3 speed options for power management. Reverse rotation function allows operator to quickly clear trimmer head of entangled grass and weeds.

For added durability, Makita’s Extreme Protection Technology (XPT^™). XPT is a series of integrated seals engineered to channel away dust and water for increased durability. Makita^® Products equipped with XPT are engineered for increased durability and longer tool life.

18V LXT^® System
