Makita 7-1/4" Magnesium Hypoid Circular Saw features a highly efficient hypoid gear system

The Makita 7-1/4" Magnesium Hypoid Circular Saw (5377MG) is a longtime favorite of framers, roofers, and carpenters. And for good reason: the maintenance-free heat-treated hypoid steel gears last longer than bronze alloy worm drive gears. Hypoid gears are engineered to transmit rotation with high efficiency for reduced mechanical wear, increased torque, and less vibration. For more, check out the new video, above.

More Power, Less Weight
The 5377MG features a Makita-built 15 AMP industrial motor that delivers 4,500 RPM, and is constructed with well-balanced magnesium components for less weight. The saw has a large cutting capacity (2-3/8" at 90 degrees) with a maximum bevel capacity of 51.5 degrees and positive stops at 22.5, 45, and 51.5 degrees for quick back-and-forth changes.
