NEW VIDEO CAPTURES MAKITA AT WORLD OF CONCRETE 2013
Highlights include debut of Makita 4-Stroke Power Cutter, the World’s First
The surfacing demonstration featured new grinder shrouds and the Makita Xtract Vac™ Jobsite Vacuum. The demo drew steady traffic during WOC.
La Mirada, CA – With several tons of 4,000 PSI concrete, all new tool demonstrations, and the World’s First 4-Stroke Power Cutter, Makita delivered a hands-on and interactive booth experience for 54,869 concrete contractors, dealers and press at World of Concrete 2013 in Las Vegas.
Attendees responded by jamming the Makita booth during the 4-day event and trying out the very latest Makita concrete solutions:
New MM4™ 4-Stroke Power Cutter: The World’s First 4-Stroke Power Cutter (EK7651) runs quieter, idles smoother and is more fuel efficient than 2-stroke models. Makita MM4™ 4-stroke technology means no more fuel mixing, so concrete contractors will need only one gas can for their power equipment. It also has several innovative features including automatic decompression which reduces pull-starting force by 40%, and an integrated wheel kit that retracts when not in use. (Available in summer 2013.)
New 12 gallon Xtract Vac™ Vacuum: The new VC4710 checks all the boxes on a long list of features requested by contractors. Features include more power in a compact size (135 CFM and 92” of water lift, yet weighs only 27 lbs.), less noise (only 59 dB(A)), an onboard tool-activated outlet, an automatic filter-cleaning system, HEPA filter capability, and more.
New Dust Extraction Accessories: There is increasing awareness of dust extraction on jobsites, and Makita has responded with an expanding line-up of dust extraction accessories. At World of Concrete, Makita demonstrated new dust-collecting solutions including grinder shrouds for surfacing, attachments for tuck-pointing, and hammer attachments for rotary hammers that accept SDS-MAX and SDS-PLUS bits.
New 18V X2 LXT® Lithium-Ion (36V) 1" Rotary Hammer (accepts SDS-PLUS bits): The new HRH01ZX2 Rotary Hammer is powered by two 18V LXT® batteries, delivering 36V power and run time for corded demands without leaving the 18V LXT® platform. It is the latest addition to Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® line-up, with 60+ tools powered by ONE 18V Lithium-Ion battery.
Makita also demonstrated its full line of rotary, demolition and breaker hammers engineered with Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT®), an internal counterbalance system engineered inside the tool to more effectively reduce vibration. Contractors at World of Concrete consistently gave AVT® a thumbs-up after running the Makita tool against non-AVT® models. Other demonstrations highlighted solutions for formwork and fastening including the 7-1/4” Hypoid Circular Saw (5337MG) and the 18V LXT® High-Torque Impact Wrench (BTW450).
