Makita has released the 40V max XGT® Telescoping 8" Polisher / Scrubber (GSP01) giving users a powerful tool for cleaning and polishing multiple surfaces.
May 05, 2025, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released the 40V max XGT® Telescoping 8" Polisher / Scrubber (GSP01) giving users a powerful tool for cleaning and polishing multiple surfaces including commercial vinyl floors, smooth and rough concrete surfaces, wood floors, decks, linoleum, tile, grout and many others.
It's powered by the same fast-charging 40V max batteries that are compatible with 170+ XGT® products.

Faster Brush Speeds and Adjustable Head
The Telescoping 8" Polisher / Scrubber delivers constant speed control with up to 60% faster brush speeds. The GSP01 features an adjustable head with a full range of adjustments so the scrubbing head can be fixed in the ideal position or in a floating mode for superior anti-wobble control.
Run Time
The GSP01 can deliver over 3-1/2 hours of run time on low and 48 minutes on high on a single charge of 40V XGT® 4.0Ah battery. It also features “tool-less" attachment changes to provide quick and easy pad and accessory changes.
Telescoping Handle
The Polisher / Scrubber features a telescoping handle that provides 14" of extension for overall length from 42-1/2" to 56-1/2". It features a 3-speed selector (150 / 350 / 650 RPM) enables users to match the speed to the application for polishing, cleaning, and wax removal.
Available Accessories
A range of color-coded attachments are available for cleaning and polishing tile floors, decks, resin wax, concrete, and other surfaces. It also features anti-restart protection engineered to prevent motor start up when the battery is inserted, while the switch is locked on.
Convenience Features
Convenience features include an adjustable easy-grip handle that provides a comfortable position for applying consistent pressure on the scrubbing and polishing head. It also features a battery cover that ensures the battery remains protected from cleaning agents and water. The GSP01 weighs only 10.3 lbs. with battery for reduced operator fatigue. It also features two head-mounted LED job lights providing front-facing illumination.
XGT®: One System of Cordless Equipment and Tools
The new Polisher/Scrubber is part of Makita XGT®, an expanding system of 40V max and 80V max cordless equipment and tools. XGT® gives users one system, from core handheld tools like drills and impact drivers to equipment-grade products including high-capacity saws, rotary hammers, and power cutters – all powered by 40V max XGT® batteries. The expanding XGT® System will offer 170+ products in 2025.
