Jig Saws feature orbital cutting, adjustable speed, and less vibration

Two new Jig Saws are being added to the XGT® System, the GVJ02 (left) and the GVJ01 (right).

March 13, 2024, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released two new Jig Saws on the XGT® platform for use in fine woodworking.

The 40V max XGT® Barrel Grip Jig Saw (GVJ01) features an ergonomically designed barrel grip that allows close-to-work control and more precise cuts. The 40V max XGT® Jig Saw (GVJ02) features a more traditional D-Handle grip with a large two finger variable speed trigger with lock on-button for added user convenience.

“Makita has a longstanding history in the woodworking space and continues to build with the release of two new XGT Jig Saws,” said Rudy Jansen, product manager residential construction, Makita USA. “These two new tools give users best-in-class performance and continues to expand the range of the 40V XGT® system.”

Power and Performance
Both the GJV01 and GVJ02 feature up to 20% faster cutting speed and cuts up to 180 feet per charge using one 2.5Ah battery (battery sold separately), as well as Makita-Built Brushless motor that delivers up to 3,500 SPM for higher blade speed. Both saws also feature three orbital settings plus a straight cutting setting. The Jig Saws are engineered with constant speed control to provide continuous speed during heavy applications. A 6-speed dial (800-3,500 SPM) is also available in both saws to allow the user to match the speed to the application.

Speed Control and Stability
The Jig Saws are engineered with constant speed control to provide continuous speed during heavy applications. A 6-speed dial (800-3,500 SPM) is also available in both saws to allow the user to match the speed to the application. A widened base provides improved cutting stability.

Convenience Features
Convenience features include a “tool-less” blade change system that allows for faster blade installation and removal, a base that bevels and locks from 0° to 45° left or right for more precise bevel cuts, and a L.E.D. light with light reduction function to reduce glare when tool is being used upside down. It also features a rubberized soft grip handle that provides increased comfort on the job.

XGT®: One System of Cordless Equipment and Tools
The new 40V max XGT® Jig Saws are both a part of the expanding XGT® system of 40V max and 80V max cordless equipment and tools. XGT® gives users one system, from core handheld tools like drills and impact drivers to equipment-grade products including high-capacity saws, rotary hammers, and power cutters – all powered by 40V max XGT® batteries. The expanding XGT® System will offer 125+ products in 2024.
