MAKITA RELEASES A NEW XGT® 9-INCH POWER CUTTER

New Power Cutter is a powerful cutting solution for pros in a variety of industries

October 2, 2024, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released a new 40V max XGT® 9" Power Cutter (GEC03) that delivers more power and less vibration than previous models. It is ideal for masons and general contractors, hardscape contractors, fire and rescue personnel, and more.

More Power, Less Vibrations
The new 9" Power Cutter has the power to cut through various masonry and metal materials with all the benefits and convenience of cordless operation. This is a powerful cutting solution for a variety of applications with a max cutting depth of 3-1/2". It can deliver up to 45% more power* and offers up to 55% less vibration for less user fatigue.

Higher Cutting Speeds
The 9” Power Cutter features a belt-drive design that provides smoother operation. The GEC03 is powered by one 40V max XGT® battery and has a Makita-built brushless motor that runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life and can deliver no load speeds up to 6,600 RPM. The GEC03 features an electric brake that stops the cutting wheel in two seconds or less, allowing for faster re-positioning.

OSHA Compliance, More Cutting Angles
For cutting concrete, the 9” Power Cutter has an integrated water delivery system with a water flow adjustment knob that continuously feeds water for OSHA Table 1 Compliance in concrete cutting applications. Other features include an adjustable blade guard which facilitates cutting in low or upper wall zones, and a rubberized front handle that can be held in multiple positions for increased comfort at various cutting orientations.

Convenience Features
Convenience features include a built-in L.E.D. light, large spindle lock button for easier wheel changes when wearing gloves, and a lock-off power switch which requires two actions to start the Power Cutter. It also features overload protection designed to protect the motor from burnout in abnormally high torque situations.

XGT®: One System of Cordless Equipment and Tools
The new 9” Power Cutter is part of Makita XGT®, an expanding system of 40V max and 80V max cordless equipment and tools. XGT® gives users one system, from core handheld tools like drills and impact drivers to equipment-grade products including high-capacity saws, rotary hammers, and power cutters – all powered by 40V max XGT® batteries.
