TOOL BOX BUZZ ON THE NEW 18V LXT CUT-OUT SAW: "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

The new 18V LXT Cordless Cut-Out Saw is ideal for walls and ceilings

Cutting openings in installed board like drywall and plywood can be challenging as there is risk of damaging wiring and other objects behind the board. Makita has a better solution with the 18V LXT Cordless Cut-Out Saw. The crew at Tool Box Buzz recently ran the tool, and they're calling the XDS01 a "better way" over multi-tools, drywall saws or even a utility knife.

Rob Robillard at TBB remarked on the speed ("10X faster than using a multi-tool") and the potential for cost savings as the depth adjustment is engineered to prevent nicking wires behind the wall. In the end, they rated it as "highly recommended."

Rob at ToolBoxBuzz ran the new 18V LXT Cut-Out Saw with the 18V X2 (36V) LXT Brushless Backpack Vacuum (XCV05, sold separately) for cord-free cutting and dust extraction.

The XDS01 is designed to cut openings in installed board with an adjustable blade depth up to 1-3/16" in drywall (blade shown above), and up to 9/16" in wood.

The new 18V LXT Cut-Out Saw is part of Makita LXT. With 150+ solutions, LXT is the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion batteries.
