TOOLS IN ACTION REVIEWS THE NEW 12V MAX CXT BRUSHLESS DRILL
FD07R1 gets high marks for compact size, ergonomics, torque, and more
“Makita designed an incredible drill around a brushless motor.” That’s what Tools in Action had to say after running the new 12V max CXT™ Brushless Driver-Drill (FD07R1).
Consistent with many pro users on job sites, TIA wasn’t looking for a replacement for their high-torque 18V drill. Instead, they were seeking a most-compact solution for core drilling and driving applications in tight spaces. And the FD07R1 fit the bill.
"Everything I want in a 12V drill"
Tools in Action liked the compact size, superior fit and ergonomics, and the low weight (only 2.3 lbs. with the 2.0Ah battery). The drill had plenty of torque for go-to applications like drilling holes with spade bits. They also liked the 2.0Ah and 4.0Ah batteries with on-board L.E.D. charge level indicators and the battery protection system. They summed it up this way: “It does everything I want in a 12V drill.”
